Compassion Fund
I have been ‘sick’ all of my life. As a child, I suffered from terrible allergies and stomach pains that would leave me crying on the floor. Throughout the years, diagnoses such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Ovarian Cysts, Epstein Barr Virus, Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder, Fibromyalgia, Lupus, Rheumatoid Arthritis, obesity, and Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis were thrown around, only to later be discarded by the next set of doctors.
I have been on many prescriptions, had procedures and surgeries, and tried many diets. In 2010, I began to research the link between toxic chemicals and health. I slowly cut out toxic cleaners, beauty products, and artificial sweeteners. Although I felt some relief from symptoms I was still not ‘well’.
I began working with Sarah and she was able to show me some of the root causes of my symptoms. However, due to the cost of treatment, I was not able to do a full dive into the underlying causes.
On my way to her office one day I prayed. I told the Lord I wanted to get healthy but I was worried about the cost of testing, visits, etc. I asked for guidance about if I should join the program or not and I asked for clear direction about how I would afford it. When I went into the office Sarah told me about the grant and asked if I would be interested in applying. She said this could be the opportunity to really dig in and get to the bottom of my health issues. I was stunned! God answered my prayer and was very clear about how I would afford it. I sat in her office and cried, so thankful for the generosity of others.
Through the grant, we have been able to do additional testing and uncover other areas of my health that needed to be addressed. I am finally losing some of the extra weight, lowering my inflammation, and on my way to the healthiest I have ever been! Thank you so much for this opportunity. Thank you for giving me a chance to be healthy, truly healthy!
