BETHANY ORTLIP, FNP-C, IFMCP

Functional Medicine Practitioner

Bethany has a passion for the restorative, holistic care found in functional medicine with the ultimate goal of promoting long term health and well-being of the body, mind, and soul. She loves building close relationships with her patients, fostering an environment for lasting healing, and pursuing patient health goals together.

Bethany is a Nationally Certified Family Nurse Practitioner with five years of experience in the field of nursing at Cleveland Clinic’s Main Campus. While caring for patients in the hospital setting, she realized her desire to prevent and bring healing to the many diseases and conditions she was so often seeing in her patients. This led to her pursuit in family practice and functional medicine. She achieved her Master of Science in Nursing from Cedarville University, specializing in family practice, and and became certified through the Institute for Functional Medicine in 2023.

When she is out of the office, Bethany enjoys coaching a youth soccer team with her husband James, being outside in nature, and spending time with loved ones.

Sandy Cooper, CRNP

Functional Medicine Practitioner

Sandy Cooper has a passion for lifelong learning and is always curious about how she might help women optimize their health and empower them to live at their highest level. She is a Nationally Certified Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner with 17 years of experience. Prior to that she worked as a Nationally Certified Nurse Midwife. Her curiosity led her to become certified in Functional Medicine by the Institute of Functional Medicine in 2020. Here she finds a model of care that allows for listening to the patient’s story, assessing for clinical imbalances and partnering with a woman to empower her to live her best life. She spent 6 years at the Cleveland Clinic Center for Functional Medicine. This holistic approach to the care of women is the most rewarding of her career. She is excited to be joining Practical Healing and continue to partner with women on their health journey.

When not in the office, Sandy enjoys exercise, reading, trying new recipes and gathering with friends. She is married with 2 grown sons, a daughter-in-law and 2 grand dogs.

LOGAN KWASNICKA, PA-C, IFMCP

Functional Medicine Practitioner

Logan is passionate about walking alongside her patients on their journey to improving overall health and wellness. Her functional medicine journey began when she experienced firsthand the impact of nutrition, stress management, sleep prioritization, and movement on physical and mental health. Logan’s life mission is to help others facilitate meaningful lifestyle transformations with a focus on longevity, mobility, energy, passion, and purpose.

She completed her undergraduate education in Human Nutrition from The Ohio State University and then earned her Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies from Mount Union University. After becoming a Nationally Certified Physician Assistant, she spent the first few years of her career in emergency medicine. Logan then trained at Cleveland Clinic Center for Functional Medicine and became certified through the Institute for Functional Medicine in 2019.

Logan’s husband Josh is also a Physician Assistant and together they have two children (Isaac and Ginny) and two golden retrievers (Odin and Penny). When she’s not in the office or spending time with her family, you can find Logan strength training, hiking, or sitting at a local coffee shop.

Sarah Cawley, PA-C, IFMCP

Functional Medicine Practitioner

Sarah believes that healing is possible when you honor the entire person and their unique story. It has been her privilege to walk alongside her patients helping to co-create their wellness journey.

Sarah has 15 years of experience as a Nationally Certified Physician Assistant and has spent the majority of her career in Emergency Medicine. She has always had an interest in health and wellness, but a diagnosis of Breast Cancer turned her personal interest into a passionate search for what truly defines our health. This led her to the field of Functional Medicine and she is now on mission to share her experience with others. She completed her formal Functional Medicine training at the Cleveland Clinic’s Center for Functional Medicine, and in 2019 became certified by the Institute for Functional Medicine.

When she’s not in the office, she enjoys hiking, running, and spending time with her family.

Meredith Hlebak, PA-C

Meredith Hlebak is a Certified Physician Assistant dedicated to helping you move beyond symptoms to achieve lasting well-being. She believes healthcare is a partnership, not just a prescription, and anchors her practice in a functional medicine approach.

With a unique background that includes a B.S. in Nutrition, a M.S. in Physician Assistant Studies, and experience as a Corporate Wellness Coach and Personal Trainer, Meredith merges traditional medicine with deep knowledge of nutrition, movement, mindfulness, and rest.

Meredith specializes in Functional Medicine, Direct Primary Care, and Performance Medicine, giving you a personalized, manageable roadmap to understand your body and build positive, lifelong health changes.

Meredith strongly believes in practicing what she preaches. Outside of the office, she actively enjoys prioritizing her own well-being by finding ways to move her body daily and exploring nature. She is an avid reader and cherishes spending time with friends and family, including her husband, Kyle, and their son. This commitment to a balanced, active lifestyle reinforces her dedication to helping you achieve the same.

CJ Novince, CNP

Primary Care Practitioner

CJ is a Family Nurse Practitioner with a diverse background in plastic surgery, urgent care, cardiology, and pediatrics. His early nursing career included roles at Akron Children’s Hospital as a float RN and Summa Health as a cardiac nurse. These experiences gave him the opportunity to care for patients of all ages and backgrounds, shaping his well-rounded and compassionate approach to healthcare.

He’s especially passionate about helping people heal through a functional medicine perspective—focusing on uncovering and addressing the root causes of illness rather than just managing symptoms. He believes in empowering patients with personalized, thoughtful care that supports long-term wellness.

He’s married to his best friend, and together they’re raising their four amazing kids on a small farm with chickens, goats, and ducks. Outside of work, CJ enjoys coaching his kids’ sports teams and exploring the outdoors with his family. His mission is to ensure every patient feels truly heard, understood, and supported on their health journey.

Dr. Kristin Wenger

Primary Care Physician

Dr. Kristin Wenger is dedicated to building strong, personal relationships with her patients, helping them achieve long-term health. As a board-certified Osteopathic Family Physician and the Director of Practical Healing Direct Primary Care, she specializes in comprehensive medicine, providing care for both adults and children.

Dr. Wenger lives in the Wooster area with her husband, Dr. Tyler Wenger, who has opened his dental practice in the same community. Outside of work, Dr. Wenger enjoys gardening, running, cooking, traveling abroad, and spending quality time with her family.

Josh Kwasnicka, PA-C, ABAAHP

Men’s Health and Performance Specialist

Josh Kwasnicka, PA-C, ABAAHP, is a board-certified Physician Assistant and A4M-certified practitioner specializing in men’s health and hormone optimization. He is dedicated to empowering patients to achieve peak health and performance through a proactive, evidence-based approach that integrates healthy lifestyle practices with advanced laboratory testing, imaging, and biometric assessments.

Josh’s passion for biology, physiology, and the human body began at age 15 through competitive powerlifting, igniting a lifelong commitment to optimizing health and performance. This drive led him to become a Physician Assistant, where he gained extensive experience in Surgery, Trauma, and Critical Care. These roles deepened his understanding of anatomy and physiology while reinforcing his focus on preventive strategies to keep patients thriving outside the hospital.

With a special interest in men’s health, Josh partners with his patients to identify and address gaps in their wellness, offering personalized plans to optimize hormones, enhance training programs, and boost overall vitality. His goal is to prevent disease and help patients live life to the fullest.

When not working with patients, Josh pushes himself through muscle growth training and enduro-style mountain biking. His leisure time is spent with his wife, Logan, and their two children, Isaac and Ginny.

Karah Novince, MSN, CPNP-AC/PC

Pediatrician

Karah is a compassionate and caring Pediatric Nurse Practitioner with a deep commitment to her patients’ well-being. She fosters a comfortable and open environment where families can openly discuss concerns and feel heard. With a passion for uncovering the root causes of health issues, she is dedicated to providing holistic care that goes beyond simply applying temporary solutions. She believes in partnering with families to create lasting, meaningful improvements in children’s health, focusing on treating the whole child rather than just the symptoms.

A graduate with a Master of Science in Pediatric Acute and Primary Care in 2013, Karah has spent most of her career working at Rainbow Babies and Children’s Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, gaining invaluable experience in high-acuity care. Her passion for treating the body as a whole has led her to combine pediatric primary care with functional medicine, believing in the power of personalized care to address the unique needs of each child. Karah is committed to integrating both conventional and functional approaches to optimize health and wellness for her young patients.

Outside of her professional life, Karah is married to her best friend C.J. and is a proud mother of four. Her faith and her family mean the world to her. She finds joy in spending time outdoors with her family, whether gardening, hiking, or watching her kids play sports. A lover of nature, farm animals, and all things outdoor-related, she values the importance of balance and family time in maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Dr. Logan Jones

Dr. Logan is a Northeast Ohio native with a passion for helping people live pain-free and perform at their best. He holds a Doctorate in Chiropractic and a Bachelor’s in Exercise Science, along with advanced certifications in Chiropractic Sports Medicine, Active Release Techniques, Dry Needling, and more. With experience treating everyone from newborns to elite athletes, Dr. Logan is dedicated to delivering high-quality, personalized care to help you feel and move better.

Clinical Pharmacist, Functional Medicine and Nutrition Specialist

Dr. Christine Sanford is a Board-Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist and Certified Nutrition Specialist with a functional, whole-person approach to medicine who received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Ohio Northern University. Pursuant to residency training at Methodist Hospital, she served as a clinical pharmacy specialist at Stanford Health Care and Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Additionally, she received her graduate certificate in Human Nutrition and Functional Medicine from the University of Western States in affiliation with the Institute for Functional Medicine.

Dr. Christine Sanford lives in the Bay Area with her husband and dog. She enjoys hiking, skiing, and being in the kitchen creating healthy and delicious meals.

Lindsay Malone MS, RD, LD

Director of Nutrition

Lindsay Malone is an Integrative and Functional Medicine Dietitian. She holds a BS in Business Administration from Xavier University and MS in Public Health Nutrition from Case Western Reserve University. Her decade of experience in healthcare and education includes advanced practice at the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic, where she most recently practiced within the Center for Functional Medicine as well as teaching at CWRU Medical and Dental Schools. Lindsay’s approach to nutrition is individualized and evidence-based. She believes that nutrition does not stand alone as a lifestyle determinant of health but is influenced by other factors, including genetics, the microbiome, stress, exercise, sleep, mindfulness, culture, and life experiences. The ideal diet for each person will take into account and address all of these factors for a personalized and realistic nutrition strategy.

Lindsay’s guiding philosophy for personal wellness is: good health is a lifelong journey, not a destination.

Lindsay is also mom to 3 and wife to Dan – she enjoys cooking (surprise, surprise), running, and spending time with family.

Taylor Richter RDN, LD

Registered Dietician

Taylor Richter is a Registered Dietitian that holds a certificate of training in Integrative and Functional Nutrition. She graduated from Kent State University with her Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition and a minor in Human Development and Family Studies. During her time working as a Registered Dietetic Technician, she discovered how interconnected nutrition, stress, mental health, sleep and physical activity are. This propelled her to continue her education to become a Registered Dietitian.

Taylor is passionate about helping others optimize their nutrition and pursue meaningful lifestyle changes. She believes this is possible through an individualized, whole person approach to health and wellness. Her mission is to help create a realistic lifestyle that best serves each person’s wants and needs.

Taylor enjoys spending time with her husband Adam, her daughter Morgan and their two dogs. She also enjoys collecting houseplants, trying new food and being around family.

Kevin Heine ACSM-EPC, NBC-HWC

Exercise Physiologist and Health Coach

Kevin Heine is an Exercise Physiologist who is passionate about helping people make meaningful behavior change in their lives. This passion began as Kevin was a student athlete at The Ohio State University and discovered the transformative power of exercise and lifestyle. Kevin went on to study Exercise Science at Ohio State and became a ACSM-certified Exercise Physiologist. Recognizing a need to help people with more than just movement, Kevin continued his education and growth by becoming a Functional Medicine-trained, board-certified Health Coach. Kevin has spent the last decade helping people improve their lives in a variety of settings, including Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland Clinic, and in private practice.

Kevin loves “getting into the weeds” with his patients, digging in to what really motivates them, setting meaningful goals, and helping them create a plan to reach those goals. So whether you want to lose weight, take your medication consistently, build muscle, or stop smoking, Kevin can help you become the person you want to be.

Kevin enjoys being active with his wife and three kids, loves bowling, and still plays volleyball when he can.

Mindy Wills, MA, LPCC

Counselor

Mindy Wills, MA, LPC completed her bachelor’s degree in Psychology and began her career in mental health working with clients diagnosed with severe mental illnesses. Eventually, Mindy took time off to spend as a stay-at-home mom to her 2 children. As time passed, she began to feel she was being called and has passionately served in ministry for 13 years. She helped to found a thriving non-profit pregnancy and parenting support center and served as its Executive Director for almost 10 years. Mindy’s ministry experience has given her acute compassion for the emotional and spiritual pain people often experience, and a belief that we all in our own way are searching for hope, healing, and wholeness. People have always gravitated to Mindy for a listening ear, advice, and support. In order to become better equipped to minister to the emotional and spiritual needs of the people she encounters, several years ago Mindy began a graduate program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

Mindy’s approach to counseling blends her own personal experience of emotional and spiritual healing with the knowledge she has gained through serving in ministry and a broad understanding of counseling techniques. She is excited to have the opportunity to partner with Practical Healing by providing compassion and support to those looking for someone to walk alongside them in their personal journey toward emotional and spiritual healing and health.

Melanie Stolarski, MA, LPC

Melanie Stolarski, MA, LPC completed her bachelor’s degree in communication studies from Regent University, and her master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Liberty University. Melanie is passionate about helping people reach their mental health and healing goals. Drawing from her diverse array of education, career, and life experiences, Melanie incorporates a holistic and eclectic approach to her work to support individuals in a whole-person, strength-based way, combining insight with action. She has experience working with adolescents, adults, and couples dealing with anxiety, depression, life adjustments, self-esteem issues, emotional regulation, grief/loss, parenting issues, women’s issues, trauma, PTSD, and substance abuse.

Melanie is a wife and mother of two grown children. In her free time, she enjoys being with her family and watching her son play college baseball. She is passionate about health and fitness and enjoys working out with her husband and daughter. She personally experienced both relational and health crises which fuel her desire to help others live a healthy and abundant life, as God designed. Her hope is that you will experience true life change and healing as a result of your time together. She will offer you a comfortable space to share your thoughts, fears, and challenges without judgment, but with the tools and techniques necessary to effect change in your life. It is truly a team effort and she finds it a joy and honor to partner with Practical Healing to walk alongside people in their struggles and pain, and to ultimately find emotional and spiritual healing and wholeness.

Kristy Jones is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology & Crisis Counseling from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. She is certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy and is currently pursuing certification in hypnotherapy, anticipated to be completed by May 30, 2026.

Kristy also holds Emergency Responder and Public Safety Certification, equipping her to provide specialized support for first responders and individuals in high-stress or trauma-exposed professions.

Kristy’s clinical approach is grounded in empathy, collaboration, and trauma informed care. She works with individuals to address a range of mental health concerns, helping clients process trauma, regulate emotions, and strengthen resilience. Her goal is to create a supportive therapeutic environment that fosters empowerment, healing, growth, and reconnection with one’s authentic self.

Kristy is honored to partner with Practical Healing to extend compassionate, evidence-based care to clients seeking meaningful change and restoration in their lives. Outside of her professional work, Kristy enjoys traveling, spending time with her husband and three children, and following her favorite football teams the Cleveland Browns and the Ohio State Buckeyes.
